The remodel that was supposed to begin in October was pushed back to December because Bob’s other job got delayed. So there aren’t any Christmas decorations up inside our house, but exciting things are happening.
A couple days ago, I listened to Kathryn’s sermon for last week. It was the second Sunday of Advent. She began by saying that her parents are remodeling their house...the house where her nursery was, the house that she grew up in … her childhood home. Her parents had decided to live there forever and they were fixing it up the way that they want it now. She mentioned that when she came over to visit, it was noisy and the cat was confused and she had to sit and pet the cat for awhile. Then she mentioned that the house will be beautiful when this is done, but right now, it’s a mess! It’s not comfortable. Change even when you want it, requires construction work, and it’s not always pleasant. Then because she is a Lutheran pastor she went on to talk about Advent. Advent is the time of the year when we wait for Jesus. Advent is a season of hope and change and the realization that to get where we need to be might be a bit messy.
So cool that the remodel has started and so cool to listen to Kathryn’s sermon!
This turned out so great!!! I love seeing all the before and during photos on here. Such a cool construction project you have going on. I agree with Krista... super cool how you tied two stories together on here. Is Kathryn your daughter? I didn't know you had a Lutheran Pastor for a daughter... how cool! (I'm Lutheran too!)
