@mcurtt Thanks, Marilyn. We're so excited when we see those large wading birds returning for the winter. I definitely got some good shots of them today.
What a great page Cheryl, and I love seeing all these lovely different flora and fauna species as well! I love watching birds as well and you really got some great shots for sure! I wouldn't get any housework done as I would be camped out on a chair taking photos all day! lol!! Brilliant work!
@wombat146 Thanks, Ona. We're in a prime position because we can watch the ducks and the birds from our house. I also walk several times a day so it gives me an opportunity to take pictures. I try to always have my phone on me so I can take pictures. I didn't have it with me on our first walk today and I saw the biggest wading bird that I've seen this winter. I could have kicked myself because, in a rush, I didn't take my phone with me. That was it - it always goes with me now.
How wonderful to have all of that so close! We have a park across the street from our house and get the occasional heron. They are always so amazing to watch. On a couple of occasions we've had one fly very close by when it was too dark to really see but you could just hear the beating of their wings - eerie but very cool!
@KimJ It's so amazing, Kim! We have a little table in the corner of the family room and we love to sit there and just watch the ducks and birds. I know what you mean about the beating of their wings. It's crazy! We had one fly really close to us the other day and it was so loud! It even freaked my dog out.
@LynnG It's very cool, Lynn. I've taken several pictures right from our family room, through the windows. The ducks are pretty calm, but the white birds are just returning and are very skittish. We can't get very close to them. We're hoping that they get used to us before long.
