Segmented turned bowl & Carved Puffin
Bowl received in 2000
Puffin received for our engagement, just months after Opa
went to be in ‘carpenter’s heaven’
Opa refinished this rocking chair & gifted it to my mom.
She decided to pass it on to me years later.
I was thrilled!
After Opa passed away, Oma entered into the refinishing class that he used to teach. She did this piece, which is an old Mrs. Got dresser, & gifted us with it on our wedding.
I treasure it incredibly.

I can see, looking back to spending much time with Opa & Oma during sleep overs, or visiting his refinishing shop, how those experiences molded me, & how my love for wood, stained glass & ceramics runs deep in my veins.
Being able to look around my home and see labours of love done by my Opa and Oma daily, not only make me reminisce, but
also spur me on and encourage me to make my own labours of love, whether it be woodworking, or anything else beautiful, inspiring, crafty, or story filled.
I am looking forward to a lifetime of this.
I only wish I had Opa’s guidance & could learn from him today.
Oma I still have here. I need to spend more time with her...
Perfect take on the challenge - such meaning and story in this layout! I love the vintage feel, especially the torn page, and the heartfelt journaling. Great work!
