I love this!! And I love the story you captured!! I have one my grandmother made as well and it is a very special part of our Christmas decorations. The one my grandmother made has lights... but the one my husband's grandmother had didn't.. she put gum drops on toothpicks in all of the holes. He has fond memories of sneaking gum drops with his brother
This just absolutely grabbed me. My mom used to make these (she may have gone a bit overboard with her ceramics hobby). She made in all different techniques and sizes and gave many of them away to friends and even sold a few. I don't believe I have any now that she is gone. I love your story!
My mom had one of those trees and it's my favorite Christmas decoration of all time! It was so fun to read your story about yours; I need to find out the story behind my mom's now. I love how the arrows draw the focus to the tree.
My mother-in- law made one of these for us and I really disliked it. But once I took the little colored lights off that made all the difference though she could never understand why I did that! Now years later, I love having it up at Christmas because she really did mean the world to me. I'm so glad she signed the base of it so my grandchildren will know her and I hope one of them will want that tree.
What talent & such a treasured memory! We have a tree like that as well, but I'm sure my grandmother didn't make ours. Thank you so much for joining the storyteller challenge!
