He suddenly appeared. No one summoned him. We all saw the screw holding the cut dry wall in the bathroom. We thought it was to get to the plumbing in the shower. We were unsuspecting people just living our lives. One Sunday morning, Mom went by and a flash of blue caught her eye. She stopped unaware of the consequences that would be wrought in her home. A sudden crash, and then it was unreal. An action figure, one bought in a bargain bag at a local thrift shop, exploded out of the wall. Mom was open mouth, unable to speak.
Again, DaVondre yelled for Dad, but this time finishing his exclamation, with the word QUICK!
Dad came running and said, “What in the tarnation is going on?”
Jordan shook his head, DaVondre chuckled and Mom blinked and made this noise between laughter and fear.
Dad finally saw the blue action figure and was quick to grab him.
“What the ??, ” the small, but powerful action figure exclaimed. I am here to help, please unhand me, large beast. Dad did just that, unhanded him. In in an instant, as quick as the explosion had happened, the wall again closed up, the figure froze and the air around the bathroom and in the hall stopped the electric buzz that we just noticed. It was eerie, we all saw it, we all heard it, and couldn’t just pretend it didn’t happen.
Mom said, “oh now that was weird.” Jordan said, “We are the luckiest people in the world!” DaVondre said, “Mom? Dad?”
Dad just smiled and said, “Yes, it was weird, and we are lucky, but I just don’t think we know what is going to come next.
