It never fails: The moniker you grab at random is always going to be the one that sticks. I started out on the interwebs as a Bluebelle (because I'm an overly dramatic Hecking Leo), but the Chat Room Gods smiled on me and got it shortened down to Blue. Which, not great, but still better. I could use Tangled Up In Blue as a theme song or something.
But here's another truth of online living: The simpler the name, the more likely it's already in use by someone else. And unless you want to carry around a string of numbers with your hey-it's-growing-on-me nickname, you find ways to make it work. You can be a Pure Blue, or a Dark Blue (eye roll), you can be a Blissfully Blue, or even a Bluntly Blue …But if you don't want every single bit of your social media mashed together, you have to find a way to keep them all separate.
So over there, where I talk about weird things and don't always watch my language, I go by one set of monikers, and over here I go by something just a little bit different.
I fell into the digital scrapping community and CT work by happy accident, and once I was here I had to come up with something I could use, something tangled up with Blue, that was simple and cheerfully neutral. Surprisingly enough Blueberries was available at all the scrapping sites I was haunting, so hey, why not? I've called myself worse things. Like Bluebelle.
Ohhhh I so totally enjoyed your journaling!! So fun and so well written. I'm with ya on the name plus endless numbers ugh! This is such a lovely page and I adore your photo and avatar!
Ha...love your story especially the part about not wanting to carry random numbers around, which is what I had to do for my email. I love the colors and elements you chose for this pretty page.
I laughed at the not wanting to tangle everything together! Especially the language part. I love the tones of blue that you used to accent your page and your name. Thanks for sharing!
