Yes, the times are different. I can relate to your story of your own youthful photos. My mother thought it you weren't dressed up, the photo would not be taken. It was definitely a more "formal" time. Nice storytelling and it's such fun to see the photos of a younger you as well as those of your more casually dressed daughter.
I saw both of your layouts in the thread for this challenge and want to thank you for participating and creating, especially since this theme brought out some painful memories and opened up past wounds. Your creations are very lovely and I can feel the emotion in your words, but I can also feel your strength. The photos are simply lovely and I hope you can see the beauty and possibly some therapeutic value in your self expression. Thank you for participating and working through this one!
@flowersgal Thank you so very much! I still remember the little Bruce Springsteen themed outfit that she had.
@Icperepra Thank you very much, your kind words mean a lot to me. I think I have posted this twice with a better explanation. It's the stress, gee golly. I gave up swearing for Lent. Apparently, I am still working on Lent. Lol. @ajm Thank you!! My grandmother made me so proud with her many skills, her laughter, her sweet, kind and giving soul. Her sewing skills were off the charts with the Singer machine with the peddle.
Aww you did look so cute in those outfits though I can appreciate you wouldn't enjoy them if you didn't feel like 'you' in them. So cute to compare to how you were dressed with how you dressed your own daughter. I really like the brushwork and embellishing in the bottom left too
