I'm intrigued by this! He made the actual cooler box thing?! Did the whole class make them from instructions? (we call it an esky, I have no idea why, but they're mentioned a lot here ATM b/c there's a social media driven hash tag challenge here called the empty esky chall, that encourages aussie's to take short breaks to fire & drought effected communities & buy from their local businesses to help support their micro economies but I didn't know you could make an esky from scratch?! What is the liquid he's pouring in & is it a tarp around a wooden box?
@bellbird yeah, he had another boy in his chemistry class that they worked together to build their own cooler. They were adamant that they had no parental help. They used thin plywood and a handsaw and cut pieces and glued them together. They had no pattern to follow, but their teacher challenged them to make a cooler... without any foam, no styrofoam, no spray foam at all. So they stuffed it full of bubble wrap. It didn't leak like 90% of their classmates' coolers did, but it did not cool well. Lol. He's pouring water into the center of the cooler to make sure it was water tight, which hurray... it was! So it's two wooden boxes with a layer of bubble wrap between and then he added some rubber gaskets on the edges to try to get it to seal.
