journaling: there are so many things i could do differently if given the opportunity, but i firmly believe that things happen for a reason, good and bad. and these things made me who i am today, and if i did even the smallest thing differently, i might have an entirely different life. and i'm not sure that's a good thing. so my best advice is to live your life how you're going to live it, and if you make mistakes, learn from them and move on. but through your journey, remember:

take chances; embrace adventure. the scariest things just might turn out to be the best things.
be kind to animals. they will reward you with unconditional love and companionship.
love is worth it. fight for it, work at it, treat it as your most treasured possession.
hard work and ethics will get you far. get your hands dirty and stand up for what you believe in.
but don’t work too hard. enjoy the fruits of your labors and learn to relax.
never stop learning. you can always do something better or try something new.
remember you are blessed. there is always someone worse off than you are.
always be truthful to yourself. even if no one else knows the truth, you will.
show compassion. karma will be your reward.
pay it forward when you can. it’s a good feeling every time.
there is beauty all around you, if you just take the time to look for it.

and always take the time to watch the sun rise.
