"This former zoo has been transformed into a park for creative initiatives. There is an exposition in one of the buildings with 298.000 folded origami cranes to commemorate the crash of flight MH17 in the Ukraine. Crane folding brings hope, happiness & comfort, it’s a Japanese tradition. If you fold a thousand, you can make a wish. The expo was very impressive. In one room someone was teaching to fold cranes. So we gave it a go, it’s quite difficult actually. When we left we had to take our cranes home, so the total amount doesn’t change. Now we’ve only got 999 more to go..."
