Sunshine

My spunky little Doodle, so full of life, you woke me at the crack of dawn the other morning begging to go to the park to play in the water. I told you it was way too early, but you were not going to have it. “But mommy it is sunshiny out!” Yes, my dear the sunshine was out, but it was only 6 am way too early for your mommy to get out of bed and take you to the park. But you did not give up. You put on your favorite bathing suit and pranced around the house singing songs at the top of your lungs until I dragged myself out of bed. “Mommy I packed the bag for you, let’s go”. A tote bag full of every single snack I had in my house, two towels and sunscreen. You were ready to go indeed. After breakfast and another hour of nagging and whining on your part, I finally gave in. At 8 am in the morning, after we dropped your two older siblings off for their summer program, we arrived at the park. We were the only two souls in the quite park. It was still a tad bit chilly, in the lower 70’s but the sun indeed was shining like you had announced earlier that morning. You ran as fast as your two little legs could carry you over to the water park and turned on the sprouts. I thought you were completely crazy Bonkers as you ran through the freezing cold water. My Doodle, you didn’t mind the fidget cold water though. You laughed and giggled and had a great time for 3 full hours before we had to head home because you were wrinkled head to toe and we had to pick up your siblings.
