Worth Fighting For

Description
Inspired by this month's HMV challenge - Learning.
The journaling reads:
I’ve spent years being the driving force behind my son’s schoolwork, pushing him to succeed even when he didn’t want to. Without my reminders, he admits he might have failed, yet this constant effort has taken a toll on my emotional well-being and our family life. Strangely enough, it hasn’t damaged our bond. In fact, he insists he wants me to "keep nagging" because it's the only thing that keeps him going. And herein lies the dilemma.
I believe in the value of education—good results can open doors, even if he doesn’t yet know what he wants after graduation. At the same time, I question whether I should continue being his ever-present crutch. He needs to want success for himself, not for me, and perhaps he needs to face failure to truly understand the importance of effort and achievement.

Thank you for looking.

That must be so hard. I'm so glad we have a creative outlet for this kind of struggle...art journaling is so cathartic! Really love your use of the word phrases...Lynn's so great at finding interesting things to say on any given topic.

Thank you for sharing your journaling and your silent battle. I’m struggling with the same thing in my parenting; it’s so hard to know what to do! I love your clustering with the messy threads to show how messy life can be. I also love how you tilted the paper but kept the journaling straight; I need to try that to add some simple contrast.

I totally understand your dilemma! I went through the same thing with my oldest, and I did at one point become so frustrated that I just said "it's on you now". It was hard and I didn't always stick to it lol. This is such a lovely page for documenting your struggle! Thanks so much for playing along with our challenge this month!

Congratulations on the Layout of the week - so deserved! Your layout is so powerful!
