Journaling: "Technology is a wonderful thing. In the past with only phones and the postal service, it was not likely people were connected across the globe. Once technology happened with home computers, the internet and now cell phones, it has exploded.
Technology has allowed me to keep in touch with people I grew up with since elementary school like we were all living in the same area without waiting for reunions.
It has also brought me new friends that I have met through the love of scrapbooking from all over the globe. I never would have met people that are dear friends, even though we have never met in person. We have done “face time” and that was neat the first time I did that with my friend Debbie in Australia.
The best new friend connection I made with technology was/is my dear friend Cynthia.
We met through our love of scrapbooking at the Lilypad. I joined the community on Sept. 2, 2011 and Cynthia joined May 7, 2012. Due to both of us commenting on pages, we started connecting.
Of course the more we were commenting and PMing each other, we found we had a lot in common with our creativity and our love of the arts. It was uncanny too, when we found out we shared the same Birthday!!
We became friends since day 1, with many face time calls through IM on Facebook. I feel very close to Cynthia, as I do some of the friends I have had for an entire lifetime. In 2017 when CJ and I
decided to travel to the UK and London on a tour, the first thing I thought of was getting together with Cynthia. He was all for it and
we added extra time to the front of the trip so we could meet up.
I made the call to Cynthia and we were both so thrilled to meet up and hug in person! It has been now a 12 year friendship and even though we have met up only once, we are very close. Cynthia and Sarita and many others would not be in my life without technology."
Absolutely perfect page for this challenge! I love how close you two have become after meeting here and it IS so uncanny that you two share a birthday too! Love this page!
I went a different route, but could also have done my meet-up with Cynthia. It was an awesome time spent together. Thanks to our connection at The Lilypad. Love the large photo blend and the beautiful relationship captured, savoured and documented beautifully.
@StefanieS I was thinking that too.. then Krista could do a page as well.. I think Cynthia is the queen of the meet-ups from the Pad Thank you so very much Stefanie for your sweet comments always!
I agree, I think Cynthia has met the most Pad peeps in person too! My husband loves Cynthia and is always asking about her and Sarita! Love your layout Christa!!!The large photo in the background is fabulous! Your titlework is amazing. Such a great way to combine a script font with a bold one! It looks so cool! Thanks for playing along with my challenge!
