Journaling: "Mary and I have been best friends for our entire lives. We lived around the block from each other growing up. My Mom drove her Mom to the hospital to have Mary, as Mary’s Dad was working in Brooklyn and couldn’t get home in time. So essentially since birth we have been the best of friends, almost like family.

We have been through everything together. Even though I got married and moved away, we still have found ways to be as close as ever. We visit each other whenever we can and we have weekly Friday calls so it is as if we aren’t apart.

Mary is the sister I never had. I love her dearly. Her family was my second family and vice versa. I still laugh at memories of camping trips... one with my family, as well as those with our group of friends.

Mary and I have gone on a girls weekend trip to Orlando and then went again with our husbands... she is always by my side at the High School reunions (even hosting one with me). She and her husband came to visit many times, but in 2022 they visited and then drove me back with them to their house so I could see their new home and see my brother & sister in law too, as they live close to each other in SC. M&R often see G&P, so like I said, we are family!

Looking forward to this year for possibly 2 trips together.. one with our husbands and another HS reunion.

I think of us as “Thelma & Louise” or even “Lucy and Ethel” singing the “Friendship” song:
