Ok.. so now you have my mouth watering LOL.. Juniors is a fabulous Cheese Cake and so glad you got to enjoy it.. Hope you also took Jessica to Katz' Deli when you were there too! Your page here with the wonderful paper with the NY City skyline and the big gold wired Alpha title is perfect.. Love the map of NY underneath and Lady Liberty blended into the bg to pair with those wonderful photos of yours.. Beautiful page Kendra!!! Thank you for sharing and playing along with the Feb. Template Challenge!
-------------------- (PS:We had a place here in VA Beach that got his cheese cakes from Juniors and also based his deli restaurant on Katz' Deli and it was the best ever (I am originally from NY)... sadly the owner passed away last April and the deli restaurant is now closed never to reopen.. My Hubby and I were sad as we would always get our NY fix there. My Dad made a cheese cake just like Juniors and I have his recipe, but have not enjoyed it since Dad's passing in 2012..)
@cfile oh we've definitely been to Katz' many times! I don't think we took her there though. We tend to take all our guests for a free ride past the statue of liberty via the Staten Island Ferry (where that picture was taken). Sorry your NY substitute in VA Beach closed. That sounds like a great taste of home nearby! Hopefully you'll find another to suit your cravings from time to time! Maybe pull out that recipe on a day that means something to your dad (birthday or father's day?)..it might help you to enjoy it in his honor!
@kendrawalter Thanks Kendra Love the Staten Island Ferry... I haven't been on that since I was a little kid We took that on a school trip as I am originally from Long Island (Suffolk County)... re the pastrami on rye, hubby made his own rye bread about 6 months ago so now we do a little bit of a replica and homage to it here at home getting some pastrami and making our own, but that guy at the 58 Deli had everything .. even egg creams (which hubby made me as well!) Re Dad's Cheese Cake, you are right.. One day I will make it again. People in Florida would hire Dad to make it, for a work party and also his cheese cake got raffled off at a Moose Lodge event, getting a lot of money for his Cheese Cake! Thanks for touching base Kendra and thanks for the reminiscing of NY.. [I have been searching for my pastina for a few months now since Ronzoni announced they are not making it anymore, it has wiped out my Barilla Pastina substitute I was getting as everyone is buying that out... what is a transplant to do !!! LOL only kidding... we find our NY substitutes alot at Weggman's ]
