Love the traditions you documented and the photos you have of the camera and it's being used in action. What a super heirloom page.

Awww this is fabulous and what a terrific heirloom & keepsake! I am so glad you now have your grandfather's minolta and can also take slides with it especially your son at Disney to keep up that sweet tradition. I smiled at your comment in the thread you told your Mom what the challenge was and that she knew you would scrap her Dad's camera. I can tell how much it means to you both and that you share that together is fabulous. Great journaling in a shape, and great title work too.. very eye catching and really accents the photo of your grandfather's camera perfectly. Thank you for sharing and playing along with my MOC11 day 7 Heirloom Challenge. Well done!

@Brendazzle Hugs :) I just sold mine and my father's cameras and I was feeling guilty after viewing your page as I got the photobug from Dad and he gave me his old Nikon and when he passed I got his other 2 Nikons. My brother took Dad's digital camera. I remember my Dad developing his own b/w photos and then everything was slides. I have a slide scanner and scanned a lot too. Mom took 8mm movies so we would have Slide Shows and movie nights. I had to get rid of the cameras as my poor nephew will have too much to go through. So yeah, I am a bit guilty after seeing your page but I smiled with my own memories. Thank you Brenda for sharing. I really love that cute pic of you and your Mom with your Mickey Mouse ears :)

@cfile That's actually my grandma in the photo. (My mom is in the background though.) I am the repository of everyone's old film cameras. I've slowly sold off a few but I still have more 35mm SLRs than I should. I have matching mother-son ones for teaching my son photography. They belonged to either my mom & stepdad or my mom & uncle. I don't use them currently though. I keep my grandpa's Minolta next to my desk and toss of a roll of film in it when we go places. I also have another, more modern Minolta that I used a lot as a teenager but it has been replaced in my heart. I also have my Diana, my husband's great-grandparents' Kodak Signet, a TLR which unfortunately may never work again after, a Polaroid Land Camera (with a pack of film that I must hoard because it's hard to find), a few other more modern Polaroids, and some other specialty cameras that aren't worth listing. I've never developed my own film in a darkroom but I keep threatening to set one up as part of homeschool once my kiddo gets a little older.
