Journaling: “Mom! Can Thomas come over?” Now, that is not an unusual request from my son as he bounces off the bus. Except, who is Thomas? He certainly was not one of the boys who lived on our street. Thomas, as it turns out, is a boy who rides the bus with Stephen. But, I don’t know him or his mother! How can I possibly arrange a playdate?
Sooooooo, after spending a couple of days unsuccessfully searching the phone book (”His last name is bat, Mom, B-A-T-T.”), and driving around trying to find his house, (”It is over two hills, Mom, right next to the big tree), I hit upon the idea of following the bus after picking Stephen up from the stop.
YAY! We found Thomas! I met his mother and finally we arranged for a play date!
So, after all of that, was the play date a success? Let me see, two boys
playing outside, climbing trees and having fun? No doubt in my mind! May 18, 2006
