Journaling reads (284 words):
I am a photographer and am constantly taking pictures. I have been constantly taking pictures since I was a teenager with my first camera. It’s now 20 years later and I have a photography degree to my name. I also have thousands upon thousands of photographs that I have taken, that I love, and that I want to remember about. I began scrapbooking as a teenager as well. It was always so exciting to go and get my film developed and see what awesome photos I had gotten to record my memories. I became a collector of photographs, stories, and important moments. I have most of my childhood photos from both of my parents, most of my Mom’s childhood photos, most of my brothers, and on and on. Scrapbooking is a way to present this collection of photographs and stories that tell about us and our family. It also represents a creative outlet for me and a time I can reminisce about the past. Scrapbooks give me a home for all those photos to live (once the pages are completed, of course). Nowadays, I scrapbook differently than when I first started. I do more digital pages that get printed into bound books instead of using paper and page protectors. It’s a way to treat myself (which is hard to allow for myself) each month or two when I get a few new supplies. Ultimately, scrapbooking for me is a way to shine the light on the positive and remember those moments that made us feel special in some way. Atizle doesn’t often look through our albums, but they are there for her if she wants to. More importantly, the albums are there for me.
