We visited Lewis & Sophie in Bedford in early March. With their Wedding day on the horizon in May, we inevitably talked about
it lots. We were all so excited, and Paul was honoured when they asked him to be Master Of Ceremonies. We were aware of the
Corona virus of course. It was all over the news and there were cases in the UK. But we had absolutely no idea that what
was coming was a pandemic that would change everything. As the country edged closer to lock down, Sophie rang to tell us
that their wedding was postponed. It felt so surreal. We kept it in perspective though. After all, this was just a cancelled wedding
and elsewhere people were dying. So Sophie quickly arranged a new wedding date for April 2021. But it must be so hard for them to
come to terms with what has happened. Apparently there are around 60,000 cancelled/postponed weddings in the UK. So they are far
from alone. But I don’t suppose that helps much. I am optimistic though. I feel that when they are, eventually, able to have their
special day, it will be all the more amazing. I will certainly appreciate it more than ever. I am also very glad that we saw them in March.
