I'm going to tell my husband that you said we should adopt another cat. Oh my goodness, gorgeous cat. Extra toes? Love! I love the flow and your photos. The shadow work is purr-fection. Is the cat a boy or a girl? Theodora or Theodore? Theo for short. That fluffy tail, oh my gosh.
@trekmom of COURSE you should get another cat. I say yes. Especially if you adopt from a shelter. The shelter we support had 164 cats and kittens this summer. We took 2, and now a third. This new one is the brother of one of our first two kittens - the last one of the litter and the vet from the shelter asked us to come get him. We said yes. Both brothers are polydactyls (extra toes). I'm thinking Ernie for Ernest Hemingway, who had lots of polydactyl cats. My hubby suggests Zip because he's a freakishly fast runner. Our son calls him Cat #3 (as in adopted cat 3, he's our 4th cat). Our daughter calls him Chicken.
I am partial to the name Ernest, we have a cat named Sir Ernest Shackleton. Ernie is a good name. You're going to be saying it a lot. Ernest is what's keeping me from adding to our family. He's quite territorial. He was neutered late in life so he marks his territory. Not pleasant. The vet has to sedate him for his check ups. At his last one, they did blood work due to his advanced age of 14 or 15. The vet tells me, there's good news and bad news, the good news is he's healthy. The bad news is that he'll live a long life.
@trekmom we adopted a stray cat who was 2 years old when we got him and had him neutered. He had the same spray issue, but not until the neighbor cat came into our garage and sprayed, basically teaching him how. from then on, it was spray city. I feel your pain. Then he got urinary crystals and had to have several surgeries for that. In spite of all of that, he was the BEST CAT EVER. I miss him every day.
