Most of our life is day-to-day casual stuff but one of the perks of living abroad is that you might get invited to an embassy reception to celebrate your national day. This one was a near miss, though, because hubby flew back from a business trip that morning. Luckily, he just needed a quick nap and a couple of hours of home office. This was an extraordinary evening which balanced out the ordinary ones.
