I love this! I love everything about it - the message of Breaking Free and Spiritual Cleansing and that mermaid looks like she is doing just that; she's a perfect choice. I like that you wrote that you have changed and thus your art has too. Isn't that what our art is about, after all, well it's at least one of the things it's about - expressing who we are right now, in this moment.
@Lillyia Lillyia, I love your wonderful, thoughtful comments, as always. You totally "got" what I was trying to convey on my page. I just love that you always get it - yes, that's one of the things about art - it is always evolving, just like we are. We don't want to get stagnate, do we???
Oh, I love it Cheryl, you are so right - we don't want to stagnate or get caught in a box trying to produce 'like we think we should', or like someone else to avoid 'making a mistake'. The Lilypad is such a nurturing community, but I have to sometimes convince myself that it's okay for me to be authentic. Thanks for the great reminder.
@Lillyia Please always try to be authentic, my friend. I say "try" because it isn't always easy. I love what you said about doing what WE like - I often forget about that and keep trying to fit in a box. I always think "is this what I'm supposed to be doing for this or that challenge"? Unless it's for something like MOC, I wish I could just forget the rules sometimes. I LOVE your work!! I'm going keep on keepig' on and hopefully you will, too.
