Journaling reads:
I remember the first day of Kindergarten. I was at Congress St Elementary School and they had a fire drill the first day. I remember being so scared that the school was on fire, not knowing it was just a drill.
The next day, they moved me to Arden Park, a much smaller school with just a K and First grade class. My class was on the right side. I remember playing in that big field of a playground. I remember how proud I was to show the school to my little brother James. I remember having a crush on Billy Grant.
They moved me to Wenzel for 1-3 grades and then to Fawn River for 4-5 grades.
Now here some 54 years later, Arden Park School is up for sale. The school was closed in 2006 and has been used for storage since then.
Wonderful storytelling...you have a good memory of your early years and it is so important to tell our own stories! So many schools in such a little time. I love that you remember your first crush! Great milestone and great page!!
