In late January 2019. I began feeling severe fatigue and my hair was falling out. At first I chalked it up to it being the middle of summer and it being extremely hot so I waited to see if it improved, it didn't. In February I went
and saw my GP thinking fully that it was going to be a case of iron deficiency anemia once again because I am susceptible to it having had major surgery over 15 years ago. I did a round of blood lab tests which came back better than they’ve ever been so it was back to the drawing board. In May I was given a home sleep study and then two days later I was to see a private sleep specialist paid by the public hospital (If it meant I was going to have a quicker diagnosis and treatment I was all for it especially as I wasn’t paying for it).
The specialist indicated that yes the home sleep study showed that I did have sleep apnea and was stopping breathing every 2 minutes all night....no wonder I was feeling tired and fatigued! I had to wait two months for an overnight sleep study and that's when the inner battle between me and the treatment started as I’d had a horrible experience with the CPAP machine years prior. I was fine that night but the first night I used it at home, I lasted all of two hours. Ever since that day last July its been an uphill battle to use it even though I know the only way I’ll ever feel human and myself again is to commit 100% every night My end goal is to lose
enough weight to not have to use it at all but in the mean time its my daily reality whether I like it or not.

I also have sleep apnea and use a machine at night, so I can sympathize. Great journaling, and love the Just Breathe stamp on the photo. Wonderful page!

@KarenB can’t take all the credit for the shadowing.....it’s the work of @gonewiththewind and her fantastic shadow styles. Without shadow styles I’d be lost

@cfile I was worried I’d gone too far off track and you wouldn’t be able to recognise the template. With my diagnosis, it’s just a case of stringing enough hours together each night and enough nights in a row for it to become a habit so that I actually feel a difference in sleep quality and there for energy levels. Quantity of sleep has never been my issue...quality has. It’s actually quite funny in a way, my mums been dealing with a different sleep disorder....she gets good quality sleep just not enough of it so we have joked that between us we get one persons worth of good sleep most nights!

I'm so sorry for your battle with the sleep apnea machine. My dad uses one and it did take some time for him to get accustomed to it. I'm hoping that the same thing happens for you and that you have more energy and creativity. I'm DELIGHTED that my shadows helped you and even more DELIGHTED that you found time to create such a fabulous page in the midst of your struggles. ((HUGS)) to you!!!
