JOURNALING: This is my favorite picture of my father from WWII when he was a LTJG with the Navy Seabees serving in Hawaii. The Seabees replaced civilian construction workers at military installations after the attack on Pearl Harbor because international law made it illegal for civilians to resist enemy attack. Should they do so, they COULD be classified as guerrillas and COULD be executed if captured.
