In 1987, I was in the Air Force, stationed in New Mexico. I got orders to go to the Phillippines. I wanted to leave New Mexico so bad. My life was swirling down the drain.
A few months before (1987)I was to leave, a coup had happened, and my assignment was cancelled.
I went into a deep depression.
A man I worked with told me maybe God wanted me in New Mexico. That made me so mad! I told him to back off, I didn’t want to hear anything about a God that wanted me in this hell hole. But, his words echoed in my mind every night. So, I started asking God for whys.
That Wednesday, July 20, 1988, I went to a little church and asked Jesus Christ into my life, and for forgiveness of my sins. I made a lifetime vow to serve Him with all my heart and my life.
