For a while Judi said she wanted to make me a gnome. Just after New Year Judi sent me a whatsapp to introduce me to Gnomie. I was expecting it to be about 10cm tall, well he is definitely bigger than that, and oh so beautiful and soft. What makes him even more impressive is that Judi made him without a pattern. She just instinctively knows how to put all the bits together from other stuff she has made and hey presto... Gnomie was born!
I take my hat off to my very clever and creative best friend, Judi. During the Covid lockdown in 2020, Judi taught herself how to crochet through Youtube videos. She started making Granny squares and not just plain ones but intricate patterns and flowers in a variety of colours. She then moved on to doing jerseys and scarves, She made me a beautiful thick blue hooded scarf in July 2020, which unfortunately I haven't yet worn as we haven't had a cold enough winter since then. Judi also croceted various toys and jerseys for friends as well as for Aidan, Nicolette and Monty in the UK. She made herself a handbag or two, jackets and blankets.
