Description:
These are a few snippets from actual journal entries when I hiked the Tankwa Camino in 2017 - 256 kilometres (159 miles) over 10 days.

31 March 2017, 05h00
Today is the day we start the great trek from Calvinia to Ceres. What on earth was I thinking when I signed up for this? I’m terrified of getting blisters!

06 April 2017, 19h00
I’m writing this by the light of the torch in my tent. Today I had to wash some of my socks. The sun is so scorching hot that they dried in 20 minutes! We haven’t seen a tree in 3 days!

I did it! I walked through the incredibly hot karoo on a notoriously treacherous road for an average of 27km per day! It was the most challenging and exhilarating experience. The scenery was stark but beautiful. It was truly refreshing and good for the soul. And I didn’t get a single blister!!

      This is FANtastic! Your FANtastic! WoW what an amazing hike to do, your photos took me right there especially the one talking about how fast your socks dried because of the heat.
