January 2018 - This coming June we will be celebrating our forty-fourth wedding anniversary. We have treated each anniversary as a special event, taking the day off from work to be with each other, going shopping, checking out antique stores, doing a day trip, going out to dinner, or ensuring that we are on vacation to commemorate the day. But on our tenth wedding anniversary, we opted to throw ourselves a party. I bought myself a new dress, John picked out a corsage for me. We invited both sides of our family and rented a room and provided a family-style lunch at the now defunct Warsaw Inn, a nod to my Polish ancestry. Then it was back to our home for photos and a garden party on a gorgeous summer day. Looking back at these photographs, I am reminded of marriages, divorce, births, deaths. Time marches on and the dynamics change. Attended by Mom & Dad, Joe, Uncle Ted and Aunt Cathy, Margaret, Grandma Kohl, Helen & Richard, Melinda, Elizabeth, Maggie & Bill & Candace, Chas and Mindy, and Matthew. These photos may be a bit yellowed, but the memories are not. - June 24, 1984
Loved reading the journaling - great storytelling. And love seeing the photos from 1984, what a treasure to have these. Wonderful page! Thanks for playing along with my challenge!
I love that you two celebrate each anniversary together with something special. That's really great! I also love that you threw a party to celebrate 10 years. I think more people should do that!
