- Description:
- After seeing a layout about hand grating fresh coconut for a wonderful coconut cake (Thank you @flowersgal ) I remembered the cake my Nana used to make but with a bag of sweetened coconut. No need to hand grate! But then I thought of how much fresh coconut went into our food in Thailand. Much of it was bought freshly ground on demand in the market, but we also had one of these funny rabbits one could sit on and grate coconut on the sharp blade coming out of bunny’s mouth. Sadly I gave it away after my return to the US. I found this photo of an antique one at Artemis Gallery selling for $500+. I wonder who has mine!
