Shortly afterI had my first child, we were living with my in laws while we waited for our move to England. My mother adored having my son with her and I realized how much she had missed of my 1st three years as a baby. Working in Philadelphia in the war years, she only saw me on weekends. She missed so much of the joy of motherhood. I talked to Vince and we decided we would take Trey over to her on Friday evening and pick him up on Sunday night. Grandma could be Mama on her own terms and in her own way.We gave her that. I know it didn’t make up for what she lost in the 1940s but it gave her so much joy. Her joy was my joy and her love for Trey was limitless. I’m so glad we did this.
I'm crying, oh these pages are remarkable, and what a precious gift you gave your mom...I am serious, just blubbering at her love for your son...and your page is beautiful! Thank you for playing along with me! Happy Mother's Day to YOU too!
