- Journaling: My user name – carrie1977 - is pretty self-explanatory. It’s my first name and my date of birth. There is a story behind my name though. I’m actually named after both of my grandmothers. Carrie was the name of my paternal grandmother. She hated her name and actually went by her middle name, Juanita. My mom loved it though and always told her that if she ever had a daughter she was going to name her Carrie. My grandmother hated the idea but mom didn’t care. My grandmother passed away before I was born and never got the chance to meet her namesake. I often wonder if my father would have been a better parent if his mother were around to give him some guidance. But, that’s a whole other story for a whole other day. I hope that even though she never met me I’ve made her proud and maybe even like her name a little more.
