Description:
Aloha! I created this layout for MOC6 challenge #17: Scrap about your name. The journaling reads:

- Hello. My name is Wencke Käte Hildegard Chodan. It’s strange, I know.
- Your name is Wank-ee?!
- No, my name is not WANK-ee. sigh. Maybe I’ll just go by my middle name and alter it to Katie...I wouldn’t call it an AKA, but as my Starbucks-name, it has certainly made my life easier.
- Well, there you go! What’s wrong with that?
- Well, it’s just not me.

My first name Wencke is unusual even for Germans, as it is a Norwegian name. I was named after a Norwegian singer, just because my parents liked the name and she happened to have a very positive and outgoing personality. I like it, even though it is always misspelled, and sometimes gets confused with a man’s name. My middle names are the first names of my grandmothers, but even though I like that tradition, I don’t really identify with their names or their lives so much.

@MrsPeel Love your comment! :) May I ask what your name is? And you're Brazilian, aren't you? So where did you grow up? Or do you have a non-Brazialian name? I'm intrigued to find out more :-D If you don't like to share "real-life information" in a public thread, feel free to shoot me a personal message.

Fun scrap.. love me some starbucks.. I too have had issues with my name, so I understand... saying it with my last name and all people butcher it. When I go to SB I oten just say Chris as it is easier.. even that gets spelled Kris, so i completely understand! Love how you scrapped this and what a beautiful unique name you have :)

LOL no worries about public info, I am an open book if you look in my pages...granted I don't journal as much as I used to, but yes, ok, is like this: I was born in Argentina and grew up between there and Brazil. I id as Brazilian but I have both nationalities, I live in London, have been here for over 25 years, moved here from Spain where I lived a few years too... now with the name? my name is Cynthia.... which in South America in the 60s (my primary school) and even the 70s (secondary school) it wasn't a name people knew at average level. My parents both spoke English, my mum was reading a novel during pregnancy and main character was Cynthia , that was where she got it, they gave me second name Sofia for my paternal Grandma but I didn't liek either, so with my friends we would change our names.... they would pick names that were rare at the time like Pamela or Melanie.... me? I chose Monica Gabriela which were the most common names ever there LOL I suffered a lot until the very late 80s when it started to be more common to have English names... then there is another long story with the surnames.... even here in England, thank God I married a British with surname Taylor so this is what I have been using since 1994 :) We spend a few years in Brazil , both east, Bahia, when my daughter was a toddler, until she was 5, so she speaks both Portuguese and Spanish perfectly, reads & writes, (and English of course) but we were lucky to be able to give her a very simple, outdoors childhood eating from the garden ad climbing trees and swimming in the sea and the river, with her name, she is Sarah, but none has called her that ever, she was since she was a baby ti us "Sarita" which is little Sara in Spanish, and is not all that common in Brazil but there are some Sarita, the problem is here as English speakers find it difficult to pronounce the sound of the R , but she loves it, so I'm lucky she doesn't want to change her name :)

I love how you started with the Starbucks story to point out Katie. The journaling as a border is awesome!
So, how do you pronounce it? When-key?
    • wenckechodan
@bestcee Thank you! I was thinking of including the "correct" pronunciation, but it's tough :-D The W is pronounced V, the enck is like it is in sank, and the last e is maybe like an 'uh'. So kinda like Vanka, with the n in the back of the palate, not right behind the teeth. Yeah....like I said, I know it's strange :-D

@wenckechodan So, vank like tank? Vank-uh?
It's pretty! And I love how unique it is - at least to me!
I wonder if you used the green from the cup and the red from the flower as your journaling colors if you would like that better? (since you mentioned it. I think the white and brown are fine)
    • wenckechodan
@bestcee Oh, thanks! See, I really love such helpful comments! I will try red and brown tomorrow! (I'm off to bed now)
