Happy Saturday! Michelle here today. Do you browse (or manically obsess over) Pinterest like I do? If so, you may have seen these lovely little works of art. Featuring inspirational, funny, tongue-in-cheek, or classic sayings, subway art posters take typography to a new level. The next time you need a little typographical inspiration, or the perfect saying to finish your page, search for "subway word art" (or similar variations) and feast your eyes! I enjoy printing and framing different posters for different seasons, holidays, celebrations, or just everyday. They are so easy to switch out and dress up a boring spot on my wall.Go grab your cup of coffee, and check out a few of my Pinterest poster favorites!Wow, if you are still with me, thanks! I just couldn't stop picking beautiful posters! Have you ever created a layout or project with subway art or cool … [Read more...]

Easy Journaling With Lists
I’ve always been partial to making lists, ever since I was a little girl. Lists are a great way to write down a bunch of related items in a concise way. They don’t have to be complete sentences, so there’s less pressure to write well. I’ve used lists to help me in many areas of my life: Help me stay organized Help me get things done Gives me a visual of my progress Easy way to journal and document my life Helps me not forget things Helps me prioritize Inspiration and ideas List-making is also a way to make scrapbook journaling easier for ourselves. We can write what comes in our minds. We can choose a topic that we are scrapbooking about and just write out a few bullet points. You can even spread the list across your page on different journaling spots to add interest. In short, lists make journaling easy. I’ve been … [Read more...]
Are you ready for some football?
When I think of September in the US, I think of back to school, fall festivals and football (American style)! I can't say enough about how much I love this game. Both of my boys are weeks into their flag football seasons and their games fill up our Saturday mornings. After their games, we usually go home so I can catch some college football on TV and root on my alma mater. And then Sunday rolls around and it's time to watch the professionals. My husband and son are big NFL fans and love to watch all of the NFL action and keep an eye on their fantasy football players. So football pretty much fills up our weekends and I always have plenty of football related moments to document. Luckily, the Pad has some great products to help us scrap our football stories! One of my most favorite kits of all time is Sahlin Studio's vintage style football kit and her matching snippettes … [Read more...]

On March 31, 2011, I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer. I was 35.Thirty-five.Ovarian cancer is nearly impossible to detect; many times the symptoms are not related to your cycle. Often times there are no symptoms at all until the cancer has advanced to a late stage. Ovarian cancer is not as widely publicized as other cancers, and is often called the silent killer. I started to post some statistics for you, but considering I am living out those numbers and they are less-than-encouraging, I'm just going to skip it. Mortality rate for those diagnosed with ovarian cancer has not improved in the last 30 years because it is diagnosed in late stages far too often.Far too often as in 85% of the time.Less than 50% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive 5 years. It ranks fifth as the cause of cancer deaths in women, and accounts for more deaths than any other cancer of … [Read more...]

It seems we celebrated Christmas just yesterday and now we're getting ready for another one! Well, but I'm not here to speak about the speed of time :) Although I live in Brazil and it's almost spring here, September always reminds me of Fall, orange color, a nice cool weather and beautiful places to visit. Maybe it's because I have spent some lovely days in London at this time of year or maybe I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic today. In fact, that's what my post is about today: some famous cities at this time of year. I hope you enjoy the ride :)I took those pics when I traveled around Europe back in 2002. They're quite old but I am never tired of staring at them and thinking I would love to come back … [Read more...]

5 hybrid scrapbooking tips
Hi, it's guest Hybrid Polly Sharon (aka skyezak) here with a few tips for those of you that might be considering dabbling in the world hybrid scrapbooking. If you're a pure digital scrapbooker, you might wonder why you'd want to get all messy and have clutter, glue, scissors and what-not across your desk (come on...it's really part of the fun)! If you've come from a traditional paper scrapbooking background, then it might be a lot less daunting to get into hybrid, but you might also be wondering why do it as well? People who I've shown my digital layouts to that have no idea what digital is all about say they love my layouts but they need to do the lumpy, bumpy schtuff...half the fun is cutting and pasting your page together they say. They don't really like the look of a flat page. Well it is fun getting down and dirty with your glue and scissors, but digital scrapbooking does offer the … [Read more...]
