Tadpole Tuesday and a new challenge!

Happy Tuesday! AmandaR here for my very first blog post as a Pollywog! YAYYY! Today we have new stuff and a new challenge.

And now for my challenge!  I was browsing my cd’s and I noticed that I have some imperfect photos that I really love! One of the things that I love about scrapbooking is that I can use all the photos, even the imperfect ones, the ones that I never add to the traditional albums, because I tell the story of the photo and why it is important to me, why it is in my scrapbooking album. So, the challenge is “the perfect imperfect photo” – scrap a photo that you love so much, but it is not perfect, maybe a litlle blurry, or someone with closed eyes or looking at the bottom. And don’t forget to tell why this photo is perfect to you.

The only other requirement is that you have to use at least 75% of LilyPad goodies on your page. Post your layouts to the Lilypad Challenge Gallery and then post your gallery link in the comments section of the blog. Just a gentle reminder that direct links to any non-TLP product are not allowed in the gallery, and any layout that doesn’t conform to the rules of the challenge will be removed.

Some inspiration from the pollywogs and Emily Merritt. You’ll also see some goodies from our final designer debuting on Friday in many of the layouts! So keep an eye on them!

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
