our mantle is currently stacked with DVDs.... not exactly how i want it to stay!!! so, i'm looking for ideas!

what does your mantle look like, if you have one? we're not decorating for the holidays (we're heading out of town - yeah), but would love to see what you've got, anyway, even if you do have that type of stuff up!

don't have a mantle, but I have a hall tree that I decorate for the different holidays.... this is what it looks like at the moment - more may be added soon

We don't have a mantle. We decorate the entry table...it's not exactly done yet but I'll take a picture later when we get home from karate :)

I want a mantle badly. have thought and thought how I could have one even without the fireplace but I'm still thinking.
I want to layer mirrors on it.
I could totally see you having gallery-wrapped canvases of your cool photos on it. or canvases (canvasses?) of scrapbookpages- one of each of you.
This has me wondering what your decorating style is...

We don't have one either - and our hall table is usually covered in newspapers I never have time to read;)

If I had one though, I would probably keep it simple, some candles with some nice simple holders - then I could switch colours and smells by the season.

No mantle here, either. The last house I had with a mantle was in Indianapolis, and I decorated it all up with these big crystal covered garlands and the little crystal bits would fall off if it was moved at all, so by the end of the holidays I had all these crystal bits all over the place. LOL Good times.

We have somewhat of a mantle - it's an arched cut-out in the wall over the fireplace. I won't say what we call it for fear of offending anyone (large hispanic catholic community in our area). All other times of the year we have these wonderful large black, orange, ivory and gold painted sconces we keep in there. At christmas I usually put our nativity set up there.

We decorated ours for the first time this year - lights, some ribbons, dried oranges and straw ornaments.

I love yours, Andrea!

Ooops, sorry it is so big, I just took it from my blog ;)

wow, I am inspired! I may have to dress mine up more. This is the first time I've had a mantle since I was a kid, so I just threw some Christmassy stuff on it along with all the stuff that was already there... lol

Ooh I'm green with envy. No mantle or fireplace for us. Wah-wah-wah.

We have a mantle and it is usually loaded with framed pictures - different sizes and different looking frames. Kind of plain, but it is a real rustic old barn beam and not much can fit up on it. No pictures of it right now since I am not home though.

No mantle (or fireplace, of course), but if I had one, it'd probably be littered with magazines, mail and assorted objects... Messy people, my people!

No mantle here either. But when we did have one we had large picture frames on it. The next house I am hoping for another one. Mostly so I have a better place to put the stockings!

Gorgeous photos ladies!!! I'm trying to clean up my entry table today, a day off, yay!!!

We don't have one either. So great pictures in this thread though :)
