Your Dream Job | Pad Patter 08.02

I wanted to be an interior designer or architect. Design buildings and decorate them.
But I also wanted kids & knew that I would want to stay home with them.

So...here I am with 7 kids. Staying home. Homeschooling them. #dreamjob
I did get to design my house. So I sort of fulfilled that dream.

BUT I also get to design templates, which was never even a thought, and I also love that.

And now that I have 2 boys that have profound hearing loss and my life is filled with teaching them language through audio-verbal therapy, cued speech, speech therapy, etc... I do think that I would enjoy going back to school for audiology, AVT, etc... something along those lines. This is also something that I would NEVER have thought to do 15 years ago.

fighting the system for immigrants or for veterans who serve and then have to fight like hell to get adequate benefits. I also plan to protest in DC with some other women of my age. I may end up in jail sometime but that's ok.

Maureen, if you go to jail for something like that at least you can tell yourself you did the right thing.

Since I was a girl I wanted to work at a hotel, and I have worked at a hotel since I started working. I still love going into work so I suppose I am doing my dream job. I don't know what that says about me. Hotel work is notoriously underpaid and extremely stressful (not for me at this point though, I work four days a week, regular hours and have a free weekend).
