let's play finish the sentence - You know it's a weekend when...

here's a few from me:
I know it's a weekend when:
  • I'm woken by the sound of a lawn mower
  • I'm in a hardware store
  • I'm hearing "mum i'm hungry" every half hour

  • I wake up to the daylight, not the alarm clock buzzing.
  • I can sit at the counter and drink my morning coffee, read my book and can get a refill or two without worrying about the time.
  • I get to squeeze in some TV shows on the PVR, often binge watching late into the evening.
  • I can go have breakfast in IHOP which is our fave nearby restaurant (just a few blocks away).

worry about you teeth, as my denist no in friday-monday

The dog wakes me up zealously because the husband is up and she's been outside. So it's time for me to get up and take her to the gas station (where they give her jerkey).

I know it's a weekend when:
• I sleep in a bit cuz DH gets the kids breakfast. Like Cheryl @gonewiththewind said, Go hubby go! (It's not the best sleep cuz I hear my kids running around lol, but at least I can stay under the covers for a little bit longer.)
• I hear "I'm booooored" more often. (That's also how I know it's summer.)

*I get to snuggle under the covers a little longer.
*I am currently enjoying coffee and computer time ALONE. They are all outside at a neighborhood yard sale. I don't remember the last time I was alone to drink my coffee!

  • The dog wakes me up at 6 because he doesn't realize it's Saturday
  • I got awesome quiet time with my coffee
  • I still haven't showered
  • I'm cleaning house and looking forward to not having to cook tonight :)

  • NO alarm buzzing, so a little extra sleep.
  • Kids fend for themselves for breakfast - normal, but nice to all be home in the morning enjoying breakfast/tea together.
  • A little downtime this Saturday, so some TV watching and lounging together (Kids and I, DH working)
  • Wondering what to do with the boys this afternoon. Maybe the park with the boys or something outside.

  • I get to sleep past 5AM!
  • I can scrap and surf the internet most of the day
  • I don't have to cook
I haven't been feeling great, woke up this AM with an awful cold and no cold medicine around the house! Hubs went to town and brought back cold medicine and Vicks for me - he baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies AND an apple pie (both from scratch) while I took a nap! Now, he's napping on the couch and I'm sipping on warmed up coffee from this morning, enjoying a few cookies while checking out TLP and FB!

. . . my alarm wakes me up for my 8 a.m. walk with my friend. We walk every Saturday morning in a variety of locations. Today it was a wooded park with a lake.

... I wake up to the sounds of my kids eating donuts in the dining room.
... we're eating pizza for dinner.
... we're piling into the van for church.
... I'm able to catch up on my Hulu shows.

No alarm, but I hear the cats/kids
Slow start to the day, lingering over my cuppa tea and no stress
Meeting friends for lunch with a spot of early Christmas shopping
Planning dinner and getting the necessities
Church, second last Saturday evening service - for ever - it hasn't taken off like they hoped.

... I can sleep in and not have to wake up in the dark.
... everyone is home fighting over the freshly made pot of coffee for first dibs.

* I hear the leaf blower next door or the sound a rake scraping the sidewalk (my neighbor makes sure to give me back all the leaves that fall from our tree) <-- and thinks this is reasonable
* I get to have breakfast with a bunch of women who still work...haha
* And on Sunday I can only hope and pray that football or 60Minutes does not mess with my recording of Madame Secretary or Elementary as I watch a couple hours of PBS shows after a dinner of leftovers :happyclap
