Another day, another scraping dilemma! Ha!

My next project is to complete a 2014 trip album that I haven't worked on in at least two years. The issue is that my scrapping style has drastically changed since I started it, and the album is less than halfway completed. Although I've already uploaded the photos into templates, I'm not set on using what I've put in there.

So, do I completely start over (which wouldn't be THAT hard) using a more Project Life style, which may be a lot faster, or finish it as is, which would mean reworking the templates to fit in what I want there?

I can't make up my mind. What would you do?

Do the style that you are most comfortable with. If you like the current style, update the others. If you don't mind the old style, go with that. Don't worry about what others will think of it; your family will think it is great.

Did you work in order originally or skip around? If you skipped around, it might not be too noticeable to keep the original pages and do any new pages in your current style since they would be mixed together.

Well... I am drawing near the end of a Disney album I have been working on since we went last year. Looking back, there are several layouts I made that I am just not loving. So I have decided to rescrap those photos. I know that if I don’t, the layouts I don’t love will stand out in the book and I will wish that I had taken the time to recreate them.

So if I were you, I would start over and make the pages what you want them to be.

Oh, I skip around all over the place! Pages are half finished, some not started, some are complete. These days I tend to focus on the photos more than on the kits. I've also been having a hard time finding kits since most of the photos are of California missions and the Spanish/Moorish architecture. It's hard to find something that works with that. I'm about to look in the store to see if something new catches my eye.

I'm almost with you on this one.

I used to scrap almost exclusively with Cindy Schneider templates. Now I'm more of a Lynn Grieveson template person. Two totally different styles. While I still do love Cindy's work, it's Lynn's templates that I find very easy to work with. I'm looking over what I've done now, so I may keep what I've finished and swap out what's not done.

I look back at some of my first albums and I don't like some of my pages at all. My style has changed drastically, too. I think I might do some of the pages if they're not printed yet. That's the beauty of digital scrapbooking for me. I have several books already printed, so they're going to stay the way they are. I look at them and marvel at how my style has changed and how much I've learned over the years.

I think if I were you, if your pages aren't printed, go back and change them. I did a Disney album from our trip last June and now I'm doing a second one. This one will be in my new style.

You could also combine the two styles in double page spreads. Cindy style on one side and Lynn on the other. Just use the same kit on both pages so that the colors match (go together) and it could work. I often use this trick when I have 2 adjoining pages for 2 different topics. I notice the colors on a page first more so than the style, so this works for me.

I had this exactly dilemma about a trip I took to Ireland in 2013. I decided to rescrap...partly because my style had changed, but also because my perspective about the trip had changed, and I wanted to tell a different story. I posted a few of the pages a few days ago.

I always have to remind myself with dilemmas like this one that the process is as valuable to me as the end product. I'd do whatever your heart desires and enjoy!

I'm probably the unpopular choice here- but I say leave them. 1. Regardless of how quick/simple you are now- they still will take SOME time and 2. Seeing how we grow & change as artists is great! While I 'don't like' some of my older layouts- I look at them with the fondness of knowing I was new, or just trying out a style or something like that. I think it's important to see our own growth! :D Since you said you skipped around, I don't think it will be noticeable to anyone but you! :)

the only person who will notice is YOU! lol
so..............will it make you twitch to have different "styles"
or do you have that rebel streak to see if anyone does notice?
lol
me, I would just pick it up and enjoy making pages and get 'er done!
lol

If you’re happy with the pages you’ve already done and still like them, even if your style has changed, I would keep them.

If you don’t like them any longer, I would trash them and not feel the least bit guilty about it. @QuiltyMom

My albums are all a mish mash, of style and ability - don't worry about it, your album will look gorgeous with the odler pages together with the new.

I am not sure that anyone should take my advice bc I am a weird and entrenched perfectionist (!) — but I would rescrap the pages I’m no longer crazy about! Otherwise I might not enjoy looking back over the album later. Plus it could be fun to redo the pages and get back in the groove of remembering the trip before working on the remaining photos :)

I'm in the midst of working on this trip album and have decided to stick with Cindy's templates. Why? I'm a bit OCD sometimes about how things look, and I want there to be that "theme" running through the album since there's a crazy mix of kits involved. It's like I recently did a Disneyland trip album using Mouse Mouse kits for about 90% of the pages. I like the sameness.

And I have totally left alone the pages that were done, except to tweak the journaling. I made myself come to that decision. Haha! I just gotta get the thing done so I can move onto the next project.
