Ce has been on an iep since kindy .. it all stemmed from what was going on in our/his life at the time-- he went into a little bubble and shut down. school was not exactly something he cared about.
I just received his quarterly review for his IEP. It's seriously chuck full of AWESOME sauce.
Reading: He has already met his goal for the year. His recent testing showed that his reading level is where they'd expect the children to be by January. He is reading with 99% accuracy, 68 words per minute (they want 80-100) and 6/10 for comprehension (his one weak spot).
Writing: blah blah blah.. his skills are well within the 3rd grade standards.
Math: has demonstrated proficiency in ALL areas addressed in the general education curriculum. etc etc etc.. on track with the other students and lists the 9000 math skills he's completely mastered.
Language/Speech: 90% accuracy on.. everything (goal was 80)
OT: Excellent progress, no difficulty cutting zig zags or curved lines and writing and illustrations are on par with grade level peers.
so all in all he is doing AMAZING and i am so proud of him!! his only real weakness is reading comprehension at this point but I think it looks like he'll be bumped out of needing an IEP at our meeting in december :] If they can give him a little reading support with the Personal Literacy Plan (which has always been separate) stuff sans the actually big ole IEP I will be a happy camper :]
