So, I am running in my first ever 5k tomorrow morning and I'm kind of nervous. I've worked out in some form or fashion most of my life, but I am NOT a runner! My daughter has begged me to run this race with her though so I'm gonna do it! Been training for a couple months but probably not as much as I should have.:dizzy

I know there are some runners in our community. any advice??
Really I'm just hoping that we have fun together and I don't humiliate my sweet girl.:giggle

oh wow! good luck ashley! i'm sure you will be awesome ... and really it is just about being together and having fun. can't wait to see those pages documenting this !!!

good luck Ashley!!

I've done a couple with a friend, she runs and I don't. She will run them and I walk the 5k but I can say it was a great time in both instances.

Congrats on going for it. I always tell myself, if worse comes to worse I can always walk it and I usually do better than I think I will. So go have fun, you are setting a personal best for that event.

Good luck Ashley, we'll be pulling for you! No advice I'm afraid, I'm doing good to walk a 5K.

well, of course, not much advice on my side.... the crutches slow me down
:giggle
you will be marvelous, and you will not only have a great time and she will be proud of you just for taking it up with her, but also you will have some amazing pages too...
looking forward to all those
good luck and enjoy!!!!!!

UPDATE! Thanks for the well wishes! I survived the 5k and had SO much fun with my daughter and many friends from our elementary school community!

Yay! Sounds like it was a great event! Kudos to you for the accomplishment.

Congratulations! What an amazing accomplishment Ashley!

Yay--I am so glad that you got to do it and had such a good time!!

Good for you! What a fun thing to do with your daughter! I ran a 5K with a friend exactly one year ago myself and I am not a runner either. It's painful to me. Lol. I prefer biking or walking, but the day of the race it wasn't so painful because there were tons of people there to watch and it gave us something to do rather than focusing on all our aches and pains. LOL!

Congrats to you and your daughter! What a wonderful experience and I'm glad it went well!

Congrats! Finishing races is always has you feeling like you accomplished something amazing! :)
