so i went wireless during MOC and i'm changing batteries every 3 weeks or so - is that normal for people that hang here and scrap every day or two?
it's a verbatim brand mouse (i basically bought it cos it was pink) and it wasn't bottom of the range but not top either and they're not the rechargable batteries either and it's getting annoying but the jittering arrow and interrupted scrolling is driving me crazy:thumbsdowns i can't stand the trackpad thing but it's preferrable to the jittery mouse and unpredictable cursor that just disappears and reappears in a totally unrelated spot atm:dizzy.

I've tried so many wireless mice and had horrible luck with all of them draining battery and working intermittently. I gave up and got a tablet instead. It's not very portable, though, which hasn't been a problem for me but I may need that in the future. Maybe someone has some good advice about mice that aren't terrible!

i use a logitech mouse and only change the batteries about every 10 weeks and i'm on the computer ALL the time...i've several of these and have had very good luck.

i am a heavy user as well and have a wireless mouse and keyboard (the standard MAC ones) and while I do feel like I go through quite a lot of batteries, deft'ly not every 3 weeks. the mouse needs new batteries more often, i'd say more inline with Judy's 10 weeks or so.

did you try searching the reviews for that mouse and see if others are experiencing the same issue? maybe you can take it back to the store for an exchange or contact the brand?

At work, a Logitech wireless mouse, I change about every 8 weeks or so. I don't use it for all of the 8 hours, but I'd say at least 6 of them.

At home, a Magic Mouse for Mac, I use it for about 3-4 hours a day on and off, and pry get about 12 weeks or more.

ohh I didn't have a good experience with wireless...had 3 or 4...and they stop working properly...I use the cheapest mouse ever now, not wireless...and is great-

I have a logitech wireless and I maybe change the batteries once a year! It's my all-day-every-day mouse too.

The only thing I might suggest is updating your drivers for the mouse? Sometimes that will help.

Oh my goodness! I have used several logitech wireless mice both at home and at work and I NEVER change the batteries! I use my mouse at work for all 8 hours. I know that I got this one before Christmas if not longer and I've never changed the batteries in that. I use one at home too although for less hours each day. Maybe 2-4 hours a day and more on the weekend and I know that I've gone a year without changing those! The one at work is a Logitech M510 and at home I use a Logitech M310 (and they have lots of fun colors). I will say that once in awhile I'll get a jumpy mouse and it's always because there is lint or something in the laser tracking port on the bottom of the mouse. Once I clean that out, it's back to normal again.

I work on computers all day 5 days a week and then add to that the time I'm scrapping practically everyday. I use either a microsoft wireless mouse or a logitech wireless mouse. And I don't buy the top of the line for either. Both come in some pretty wild colors and patterns now so you can definitely find a pink one. I do occasionally get some sticking or disappearing, but not much considering my use. I don't recall the last battery change so I don't think that's a problem. If I'm on the road I do turn off the mouse.

Try upgrading your mouse driver - sometimes the driver specific to the operating system woks better than the hardware driver and vice-versa. You didn't say what brand of mouse you bought so its hard to advise next steps.

I use the Apple mice (yes, plural as we all use them in our house, hehe). Battery needs changing every 3-4 months maybe. BUT, on my desktop I have a little recharger that I keep plugged into the USB port. I can put the mouse on it every night and it recharges it. It's been awesome! No more batteries for that mouse at least. Totally worth the investment. Not sure if they have such a thing outside of Apple but I can't imagine they wouldn't.

I too have a Logitech mouse and keyboard and haven't had issues .... I like you choice in getting a PINK one though!!

I use the wireless track pad with my iMac and feel it does go through batteries rather quickly, I'm not sure if it's every 3 weeks or not, I should keep track.

I a red mini mouse that I bought at WalMart for $11.99 I think, may be a Logitech, not sure. I just turn the mouse off when I'm not using it, think I've had it for a month

Wait... there's a CHARGER for your MOUSE?! How have I not seen this before?! I have a GC to the Apple store... I think I know what I might get with it now.

Oh, and to answer the question at hand... I use a magic mouse from Apple and change the batteries every couple of months.

I make a habit of turning the mouse off when I'm not using it. I've changed the batteries in my Logitech M315 once since I got it in August 2014. I LOVE it.

ok thanks - i'll look around the Verbatim website and see if i can find the drivers; i can't see any lint in the laser divet bit but i'll try to find a small brush and see if that helps too
