Winter Storm!

I think we're only going to hit low 60's here in Arizona today, not sure if we'll get a bit more rain. it drizzled all day yesterday. The clouds are still lingering. It's actually quite beautiful. Not even super cold overnight with all the humidity from the clouds and rain. Stay safe in this blizzards (or out of them).

My husband's job already shut down for Sunday & Monday & they NEVER shut down.

It's already been too cold for me this winter & I'm normally pretty good about tolerating it. Just getting to my bones quicker. Have to head out today to pick up Girl Scout cookies for my oldest then after that I think we'll be hunkering down for two days, lol!

Bring it on! :giggle I love a good snowy winter and we're having a great one this year so far. My hubby is out using the snowblower as I type. We didn't get much overnight, but he loves to "throw snow" :giggle It sure is cold though! It was 2°F when I woke up. Now we're up to 5°F. But the sun is out which we rarely get, so I love that too! Pretty sure we are supposed to get a few more inches of snow today and tomorrow.

We haven't gotten much yet here South of Atlanta. They are predicting sleet mixed with freezing rains, so we'll see how that plays out where we are. Hopefully we're far enough south that the ice doesn't form here.

We were used to lots of snow back in Utah, so it was business as usual there. Here they don't have the infrastructure to handle lots of snow and especially ice. Georgia is super hilly, so the roads go up and down and are lined with trees, so they don't get much sunlight in the winter. The freezing rain just clings to the power lines and trees and coats the roads with black ice. Our biggest concern is the power going out because of the weight of the ice on trees and power lines. They are saying to be prepared for the possibility of the power being out for multiple days.

I'm glad we cancelled our trip to Nashville this weekend. It looks like they are getting clobbered with snow and northern Georgia is supposed to get ice, so I didn't want to be trying to get back home in that! Our kids in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fort Worth, Texas got some snow, and work and church has been cancelled for some of them. Our church has been delayed one hour and it's only sacrament meeting, but it could get cancelled altogether if we get ice overnight.

Hope everyone is staying home and keeping warm and safe!

Here in Pennsylvania they are predicting 15-20 inches. We haven’t had that much snow in years. I’m kind of looking forward to it. We haven’t groceries and tested the snowblower so we are as ready as we can be.

Also in PA and waiting for the foot of snow to arrive overnight. It's bitter cold already, about 17 degrees, but going to get even colder. It's crazy that I have a Mom in TX and a sister in SC also under storm warnings due to the same system - this is a big one!

It is cold here (-6F), and about to get colder. We're expecting about 6-8 inches of snow, which isn't too bad, and we're used to it.

Just a few more hours until the snow is supposed to hit me. I expect to wake up to a white wonderland. I'm glad I still got to have my hike this morning. It was 12 degrees but I just added more layers and didn't linger.

I can't wait to see how I can incorporate the coming snowy icy days into my MOC challenge pages.

It's sunny and warm here in Phoenix but I'm a smidge jealous of a big snow storm and hoping it isn't too bad for those of you expecting lots of weather!

I hate it so much! We were originally supposed to get a lot of snow, but everything shifted and now we're supposed to get some significant icing. I guess it'll be ok as long as we don't lose power. That's what has me most concerned because our only source of heat is electric. We do have one of those little propane heaters, but it's not going to do a lot as cold as it's supposed to be.

@IntenseMagic I've been noticing all day that it is shifting north. My snow forecast in Ohio has gone from 8" on Thursday to 11" at this time. Thankfully, no ice where I'm at. (I have electric heat as well) It started snowing around 8 EST which is several hours earlier than it was supposed to start.

Temp high today did get to 15F but the feels like was about 5F. It is 9F now with a feels like of -1F.

It's been a weird January. I'm doing a cross stitch temperature tracker for 2026 so have been recording the high temps every day. We started the month at 22F. Since then it has been: 28F, 29F, 34F, 45F, 50F, 47F, 56F, 60F, 43F, 31F, 38F, 36F, 43F, 23F, 33F, 30F, 19F, 14F, 17F, 40F (this past Wednesday), 29F, 13F and 15F today. The next 10 days are forecast to all be below 20F.

I hate winter!

Stay safe everyone with your Wintery Storminess! Stay home and scrap, read and take some time for yourselves if you can.

While here in OZ we are melting! Nothing like a little extreme weather to make you feel alive!
I'm glad I don't live in the red spot ... but the orange tomorrow is going to be horrid!
