I've really been trying to hold on to the slower pace of these last few weeks of summer- and that lazy hazy vibe has spilled onto my drawing board in the upcoming OFFLINE Collection- Think: sunset golds, dreamy pinks and soft sky blues...
I thought it would be fun to share how you wind down during the last days of summer- and what you do to "go offline"- you know, how you disconnect to reconnect... Share your thoughts here- and Thursday night at 7pm- one comment will be randomly chosen to win the OFFLINE Page Kit and Journal Cards!
So pretty!!! We try to play board games, or outdoor games (frisbee, ladder golf, bocce ball). We also like to head out to the lake or rivers around here when it's nice outside and spend the days playing and relaxing in the water.
I'm actually thinking about a "Week in the life" project, or if I can repurpose as a baby kit. (Pinks blues and golds) I saw the "today" word strip in the preview
Eta: I totally misread this earlier. Lol
To unwind and relax, I scrap also, I've picked up zentangles and lettering. I have so many ideas, so it's definitely my outlet. Creativity in many forms.
I love to go to my favorite state park where there is no "online" and little cell service (at least at the cabin). Looking forward to a few days offline in September. Otherwise -- it's knitting, knitting, and more knitting.
This is just so pretty and i can feel that happy peaceful vibe. We disconnect by going to a coastal caravan park and staying in a cabin for a few days and going on beach walks, to the local wildlife park and nature stuff - lots of down time to read and play board games too
The colors in this kit are so soft and beautiful! Stunning! Thanks for the chance!
twice in the last week me and my daughter have gone shopping to local antique malls. She is looking for china dinner plates in the Red or Blue color family and looking for Red glass for center pieces for the table ware at her wedding. So far 27 dinner plates and 10 custard stem cups for floating candles.......
This weekend we will be hitting the garage sales!
I like to spend my summer nights by taking a walk and enjoying these exact colors in the sky as the sun starts to set. Love this! Thanks for the chance!
First of all: the gentle muted almost old-fashioned in the best sense of the word colours and patterns make me wish I was still paper scrapbooking. I wish I could say that to wind down and reconnect as a family we go for walks and picnics, and swim as we usually do, this summer though it's so hot, that we seek protection of our thick walls in the house, and we stay in, listening to audio books while we redecorate the rooms (the girls and I are, dh is working so only joins us in the evening, and all the family activities take part after sunset like a family of vampires, as I am suffering *this year especially so from sun allergy). In the evening we go to the pool, I can do 2 kms now no problem, and my husband's 1 km is the fastest ever, and we swim and play for fun with the girls too, the youngest does 500 metres alongside me easily now. We do go for walks up in the Alps to see the flowers and cows, and glacier lakes and enjoy a 10 C difference (it is always cooler up that high). Otherwise we sit around while listening to music and books, and draw, crochet and do gardening and barbeques by night.
My most favorite way to "go offline" is to grab my camera and head outside to capture some macro shots in nature. When focusing in on the details of nature, everything else just slips away . . . and when you are that up close and personal, there is a never ending supply of new things to shoot!
love the palette!!!! I draw a lot, watch TV, when weather is good and feeling better I cook (which is something I unfortunately cannot do on my own ofetn anymore) and read, read and read!!!
