awesome @Cristina ... showing the background is a great reason to move towards the edges! and I seriously love the one with all the circle clusters. so fun!

@jenn mccabe - thanks so much for spotlighting my page! I usually do start for the center and spread toward the edges when making a layout, but lately have been attempting to use the edges as starting spots. I've made a couple other pages that are similar, here is one:

I made this page for the Scraplift Challenge for December here at the Lilypad, and lifted look of the page from @chickypow. She has a lot of pages with interest along the edges of the canvas.
love it! that title and the colors! and the way you linked the photos with the swirly brushes so subtly, you rocked this design technique!
This is an interesting concept and I realized that I almost always start in the middle, too. I'm going to experiment with this idea. LOVE all of the examples!!
I think it might wake up my creativity. Sometimes I get stuck. It did take more thinking to intentionally start on the edges & work my way in! Will try to use it more often!
Can't wait to see your experiments!
It's beautifully balanced Cheryl! I don't think that is an easy thing to do - leaving the photo to the very end. I'm impressed! I pretty much always start with a photo (or maybe an idea and then find the photo right away) too. I love this so much!I finally tried this concept and am really happy with the outcome. In face, even though this was a template, by Dawn Inskip, the photograph was the last thing I added. I usually start with the picture and work from there, but this time, I didn't even know what photo I was going to use until I got to the photo frame. It's fun to try new things.
