I can tell you what I've learned from watching Food Network this past month. :giggle

(01) They smear all their turkeys with herbed better. Oh, and some brine it, too, before the butter smear.
(02) Pioneer Woman (anyone catch that episode with Bobby Flay's Throwdown?!) makes her mashed potatoes with Yukon gold potatoes not Russets.

Otherwise, I don't really have any Thanksgiving-y recipes. I will post the green bean recipe I promised Rebecca in this thread later tonight, though. :)

i am making.. nothing. lol. I asked my mum if i could bring/make something and she said no :p haha

Since it's just going to be me and the boys, I bought a little rolled turkey breast at Trader Joes, and it has cranberry stuffing inside. Eric is the only one that would eat stuffing anyway. I will make mashed potatoes with Yukon Gold potatoes, real butter and heavy cream! Heck...if I'm going to be bad, I'm going to be REALLY bad! Trader Joes frozen green beans are the best (as far as frozen goes). They'll have bacon, garlic and fresh dill in them. We've been making them since I was a little girl, and I could eat the whole pot. Rolls for the boys, and then I'll have pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread (both my mom's recipes). My mom was an amazing baker. She has alzheimers now and can't cook at all. I think I'll make these for my dad when I go visit in early December.

just ordered a fresh turkey from sun harvest (we don't have whole foods). will slather all kinds of stuff on that including orange & lemon peels. having green beans (microwave w/ some bacon and butter - come out perfect), gold potatoes (always the golds), salad, corn on the cob (grilled), home made rolls, gravy, etc. going to make pumpkin cookies for the kids (these - all time favorite) and will have pies...2-3 pies.

im not allowed to cook anything for thanks giving to bring to family
i usually have to bring rolls LMAO
IDK why though
just cause its burnt dont mean its not tasty

My hubby makes this yummie Pumpkin and Sausage Soup, with andouille sausage, praline liqueur, and brown sugar, it's just to die for, so smooth and spicy :). We are brining the turkey this year with a mix from our local grocer, looking forward to it since we've never tried it before. I'm making a pumpkin cheesecake, some peanut butter cups for my lactose intollerant boy-o, and my Mom is bringing the sides. Oh and for appetizer we're having local brie with a cranberry sauce topping.

As for recipes, I'm sure hubby got the soup from allrecipies.com. My cheesecake is by Emerile, I'm sure it can be googled too, I printed it out years ago.

I have made Bakerella's Brownie Pecan Pie, Southern Living's Sweet Potato Cinnamon Rolls, Fresh Peas, Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus, Chex mix (with no Chex because we don't have them here, I do have Reeces Pieces though, but they were $8). Turkey about to go in the oven and still to finish: stuffing, roast carrots, warm potato salad and Pumpkin Cheesecake Torte. must get back to it...
