Not sure why my brain thinks this way- but A: MIDDLE is for COLD sandwiches. B: DIAGONAL is for hot/grilled sandwiches (grilled cheese... mmmm... )

Now that you said this... this makes sense to me. I think I follow this... but hardly cook hot sandwiches myself.

Plus, for some reason the crust isn't as intimidating on a diagonal, so munchkin will eat more of the crust if it's diagonal, and less if I cut in the middle.

It wouldn't even occur to me to cut in half equally LOL. I have always been diagonal, I think it makes more sense, easier to get that first bite in on the edge

Also, because I can always fit the corner in my mouth. So, I can eat the corners and work my way into the middle. Something about it makes it easier than if I cut it down the middle.

This and into 4 triangles when it's for a small child.

B mostly, though like @gonewiththewind I also cut my homemade burgers in half, if I don’t everything either falls out or I end up wearing my burger!

Same, Cheryl! I always cut my burger in half. It's usually too giant to pick up whole for me. Too messy too!

Even when I cut it in half, my tomato always seems to fall apart and slide down my forearm. I'm a little funny about stuff like that, so I end up using about a gazillion napkins and feel like I need a shower after the burger eating is done. LOL
