I am 3 or so pages from completing a 50+ page album of a trip we took in 2012. Most of the pages are on another site but during INSD, I ordered all I had done from Persnickety. Pure excitement and anticipation! When I got them, I put them into a D ring binder that has two other European trips. Naturally I missed about 6 pages when I uploaded to Persnickety. grrrr...

I put the album on the kitchen table opened to the 2012 trip and was not in the room when my husband came home and sat down to eat lunch. Afterwards I asked him if he'd looked at it...pointing to the table. "Looked at what???" (He had to move a pretty full 12" D ring binder to eat....) He finally said after looking through the pages, "You know you never mentioned one of the things that bothered us." "What..." I asked. "You know how long it took for our iPhone photos to upload (then download) to our (his!) Macbook." 40 plus pages and that's all he can say. I must admit I'm used to this and he's an introverted engineer who has to process things for a long long time but seriously...

If I didn't enjoy the creation for myself, I think I might consider taking that D ring album and whacking him upside the head as my late mother in law used to say!

Oh my goodness! That made me laugh. Maybe you can add a label in the front that talks about the photos downloading.

Maybe you need to make a page about that. I know my DH could care less when my books come. So I don't really keep him in the focus anymore. Now if I were to download all the fishing pics from his phone and make him a book THEN he would be interested and show it off. But not sure I am that nice.

Bwahahahaha

Yeah, you kinda have to love it for yourself because the reactions from family and friends is sometimes puzzling at best.

At least this time he didn't point out any or all of my probable spelling mistakes!

:giggle I feel your pain! I just get "huh, that's nice" looks when my DH looks at my books. He doesn't even take the energy to comment. Or look through them. LOL.

What can I say ; your food must be really nice for him to prefer to eat rather than look at your album....
I would definitely still be annoyed though.

leaving spelling mistakes is my way of knowing my family actually reads it! lol
mo-om, did you know the is not spelled Tthe?
really?
oh your welcome for knowing how to read!
bhahahaha

I wonder if I said that would he get it?? ;)

Oh husbands!! My hubby loves looking at my most recent pages, he gets all sentimental and proud and, honestly, it is so weird.

However!
I made an ABC book of us for our anniversary this year. It took me quite a while because I was very pregnant and couldn't sit up at my computer for long periods of time, and I could only do it while he was at work. I was also adding QR codes of songs from our lives, and I had to think of things for every letter of the alphabet, come on!!
I gave it to him on our anniversary and he read through and looked at the pictures and he loved it, and I told him I had put the app on his phone to read the QR codes and they were a fun surprise.
The next day I asked if he like the QR code surprises. He asked me what I was talking about, so I explained again.
The next week Melody wanted to look at the QR codes and thought they were fun, hubby asked what we were doing that he didn't know those were in there. Sigh
When we moved, I put the little album on his desk and he asked what it was. Sigh.
Got to love them, but they are not the most observant creatures <3

:rofl bwhahha Maureen, your thread title got me in!!! hahhaaaaaa! and yes, I can relate!! he is another one that goes 'oh wow, that's great!' but only flips through a couple of pages! just sometimes I would like to ............... :sense..........:giggle:giggle Similar to what Carilyne said, if I did an album of all of his cars, trucks, excavators and other machinery he would be more impressed........ but I am not that nice either!!!! :giggle:giggle

Yeah. I totally get it. But you did make me laugh though. :)

I wrote my husband a novel (fictionalized account of us getting together) for a wedding present. I had it printed and bound, and even got permission to use an artist's work for the cover. Did he ever even flip open the cover and see one sentence? Nope. But now he knows he'd better at least pretend to be interested if I tell him I'm saving something or taking a pic for Project Life. But he doesn't look at the books/pages. :assslap

The person in my family who really likes my albums is my son in law. Not my daughters or husband. My SIL! He reads every bit of journaling. He scans every QR code and watched the videos. Then he'll look at them again.
