Everyone has gone off to work and school and the house is so quiet this morning. I can hear the birds chirping outside and see the sun shining on the flowers and trees. It's such a peaceful morning and I don't want it to end. I got lost in my thoughts for a bit about all the beauty around me and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Most mornings are crazy - running kids to school and then hurrying to water aerobics. But today the kids walked and I just sat here. I can't remember the last time I just sat and listened to the quiet. It's so refreshing and therapeutic, I highly recommend it.

How about you? When was the last time you just sat there and enjoyed a quiet, peaceful moment? If it's been awhile, I challenge you to make some time to get away from it all and just enjoy a quiet, peaceful moment.

I'm actually enjoying the peace and quiet right now (although my cats have decided they want pick in each other so there's that noise LOL)! Hubby left for work and Rileigh left for school about an hour ago and Sonnet is still asleep!

I get to enjoy my first couple cups of coffee without interruptions...say what? This never happens :happydance2

I get my peaceful moments on Saturdays; it's the only day I'm not running around and getting all the kids up for school or church. I didn't get it this week though -- I went to an all day scrapbooking crop and left early in the morning so I could be there for the whole day.

Once my husband puts up my new pergola, on Saturday mornings I'll go out on the back deck with a cup of coffee and a book for about an hour or so, before the rest of the family gets up. (My youngest is also an early bird, and he'll come out with his tablet to sit with me.) I sort of get a little bit of quiet on Wednesdays, after everyone leaves, since I work from home, but it is less relaxing to be with my coffee in front of the computer checking my work email, than to be outside with a novel!

(If I don't go outside, I often watch TV on Saturday mornings. It's technically *my* TV, but since it's in the main living area, it seems like someone else is always watching it. Or, if I'm watching it, one child or another is talking to me and I can't pay attention anyway. So when I can't go outside, I'll steal the quiet time on Saturday mornings to watch something I want to pay attention to.)

This is the reason I love Mondays. I don't work- but the hubby does & kids go to school & it's WONDERFUL! I usually leave the tv off & just get my chores done. Right now I'm sitting here with a hot cup of coffee- listening to the rain fall & it is so peaceful. I love my Mondays! :D

Now that's what I call a good day off.

Friday mornings at work are pretty crazy as we are printing everything for the Sunday worship service.

By 3 or so, though, it's pretty quiet. I'm often the only one in the office until closing time at 4:30. I have a big window that looks out on a field. It's usually not too quiet as there is a road in between where people can drive 50mph but I enjoy looking out onto the field & being grateful for the week behind me & the weekend ahead of me.

I have peace and quiet almost every morning. Everyone in my family is either a night owl or likes to sleep in, and I’m a morning bird who loves to jump out of bed early and get started on my day.

I walk around the neighborhood about half the days each week, then do whatever I want to do until it’s time to make breakfast for my husband and me. Sometimes I read, sometimes I knit, sometimes I check in at TLP. :love

My time for peace and quiet is usually between 8-10 on Wednesday mornings. That's time I block on my schedule as a clarity break. I get my kids off to school and then go somewhere I can grab a nice breakfast, put on my headphones, listen to music, and just get updated on things I need to know.
Other than then, I am, desperately, trying to take a 10 minute meditation break sometime during each day. My BEST so far this year is 3 days in a row/5 out of 7 days in one week. I find just this small amount of time helps to center me and prepare me for the day. I've got to figure out how to make it work every day, consistently though!

Last week was very busy around here. Actually so was this past weekend plus we had company AND yesterday DH had to call the cops on trespassers (long story but everything is OK), so I was careful not to plan anything for today. I had a great morning, watering plants/seedlings and just not doing anything Important. Digging in the soil and focusing on nature really helped me relax.

I said this awhile ago, but we, the moms, have to take care of ourselves. It's easier to help others if we ourselves have been taken care of. When we are on a plane, we're told to put our oxygen mask on before we help others. So I think of Me Time as putting on my oxygen mask. I made sure mine was on today!

That's one of the reasons that I get up at 5 am, just to have about 30 min of peace and quiet with my coffee before I have to start getting ready for work. But I especially love weekends when I get up around 6:30 or 7 and the rest of the house sleeps until 10 or 11 :) Summer vacation in a month and I can't wait to have the mornings all to myself!!

I'm a night owl so my peace and quiet is after 9pm weeknights. I'm usually up early on weekends so I enjoy about 30mins to 3 hrs of quiet time depending when my kids get up. My DH is usually up with me but he goes and does his own thing. My mornings are much quieter now that we had my oldest getting on the bus and I only have to get my daughter ready for school (although she is pretty good at getting ready on her own once I wake her).
