When do you start watching holiday movies? | Pad Patter 11.12.22

It is taking every ounce of will power to not watch The Polar Express (my favorite Christmas movie). I typically save it up for Thanksgiving evening.

After The Polar Express, A Christmas Carole is my #2. I like the animated version and the 1951 classic.

So, how about you and your family? Is Thanksgiving the start of Holiday Movie season too?
 
We start watching them in December, The Christmas Toy and Elf are my favorites. I’m sure there are others but my mind is drawing a blank right now.
 
I watch them when I need them - all year round. I love those Hallmark Christmas movies (or similar), they're like Prozac. Whenever I need to restore some hope, I watch one of them.

Favorite Christmas movie is of course Love Actually. Best, best BEST!

After Thanksgiving here! I’m also a big fan of Love Actually and Elf. And we watch Christmas Vacation every year.
 
Usually not until after Thanksgiving for me, but DH starts in like August :giggle

Maybe a light therapy lamp? Actually, I could use one in my craft room! Maybe I could actually see what I'm doing. The lack of sunlight causes me to go into hibernation.

My depression has nothing to do with the lack of light although I do despise winter for the coldness of it. It is due to several events in my life that happened during the period of Thanksgiving to Christmas. Too many loved ones died during this time over the years.

Once NYE is here, I am fine.

Thanksgiving evening is when we make the switch as well, but this year we'll be at Disney World. For us it was Christmas Vacation Thanksgiving night, until the kids were old enough to stay up. At that point we switched to Elf and now that they're older, we're back to watching Christmas Vacation if we're all together.
 
We'll start in December. Charlie Brown and Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas are my top two.

I feel bad hearing that. Sending ya lots of warm thoughts and positive vibes.
 
I already PVR'd a movie that I'll watch in December. I love the cheesy Hallmark holiday movies.
 
When do I start watching holiday movies? I think the question to ask me is if I ever stop...check out my avatar quote.

As to "The Polar Express", we watch it the Friday after Thanksgiving, make chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate, and decorate the Christmas tree.
 
I don’t really have time when I watch them, but I did watch a couple of those cheesy Hallmark ones already because they had a freeview going for a couple of weeks
